Dignitaries present in the event were: Dinesh Bhatia, Consul General of India, Toronto, senior officials from the Consulate, John Tory, Mayor of Toronto; MP Rob Oliphant; Dipika Damerla, Ontario Minister of Seniors Affairs in the Cabinet of Premier Kathlaneen Wynne; MPP Bob Delaney; MPP Amrit Mangat & Rajesh Gupta, President & CEO, State Bank of India, Canada. Bhatia congratulated and appreciated the efforts of Panorama India towards organising events like the India Independence Day Parade and Republic Day Celebrations. He announced that the winner of Panorama Idol (the biggest and one of its kind event for the Indian Diaspora in a foreign country), would get a trip to India under Government of India's 'Know your India Programme'. In his speech, Bhatia also highlighted the remarkable of Punjab State Government's initiative 'Connect with your Roots' and Goa State Government,s initiative 'Know your Goa Programme' and added these offer great inspiration to youth of Indian origin settled abroad to know their motherland.
