Diwali Gala fulfils Oakville Hospital Foundation's noble cause

Toronto, Oct 8 (Canadian-Media): The Oakville Diwali Gala -- one of the most sought-after events in the Halton region of Ontario, was celebrated in a true Canadian style with many generous donations in cash as well as kind that had assisted Oakville Hospital Foundation (OHF) in meeting the noble cause of securing state of the art equipment.

 “The final funds raised at the Diwali Gala $281,000, which is 93.4% from that of the previous fundraiser,” proudly announced Ms. Sona Khanna, Event Chair.

Traditionally dressed guests, members of The Oakville Hospital foundation, friends and families present to celebrate the festival of lights in it’s glamour truly matched the cause of the festival.

Other dignitaries present were Bollywood celebrity and a Canadian writer, lead actor and producer. Dr. Cabbie, Mr. Vinay Virmani, renowned for his films, Breakaway and David.

Also present in this event were  the sponsors for the event who were responsible for fulfilling the cause of this tremendous nature.

Arts and accessories, magnificently displayed, ranging from traditional art displays, like painting, art work or a prized Rolex Watch reminded the gathering the cause of the evening, the silent auction for the Medical community.

The event started with a traditional Indian welcome with the hallways decked in lights and flowers where guests were being welcomed with a literal drum roll, a traditional Indian ‘dhol‘.

The event lit up with colourful turbans of both the artists and the guests that evening, display of various stalls selling jewellery, henna, and special photo booth and stall where one could capture the memories of the evening.

In addition, there were games to be played, dance and music to liven up the place and auctions to be done.

Manj Musik, Lead Vocalist & Music Composer from the group RDB with his live performance took the excitement to the next level.

Musik is known for his Blockbuster Bollywood film soundtracks in Heropanti, Dr. Cabbie, Gabbar is Back, Singh Is Bling, Baaghi, Beiimaan Love, is the former lead vocalist and music composer for the bhangra music group RDB.

In all the fun filled celebration of the festival of lights including dance and song combination of Bhangra and Punjabi singing, the cause of the celebration was not forgotten with the patrons pledging for the cause.

The Oakville Hospital Foundation Gala is held every not only to celebrate the Diwali festival of light and joy, but also to support the cause of the Oakville Hospital foundation’s beneficiary, the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, whose care and medical services are needed by Oakville community and beyond.

Recently introduced advanced technologies in Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, of 1.6 million square feet in size, are expected to advance patient treatment and care on a wider scale.
