TIFF Filmmaker Lab is and extremely competitive and an artistic development program of  TIFF, which is annually during the TIFF and focuses on aspiring Canadian and international filmmakers and provides intensive learning experience to 20 emerging directors and screenwriters which facilitates their further development in their creativity, artistic process, and voice.

Guided by some of the best-known and  experts in independent cinema from around the world,  TIFF Talent Lab is designed to launch the careers of the next generation of filmmakers. (TIFF.net).

Chica’s submission of "Montreal Girls," a feature script in the advanced phase of development, together with a one minute excerpt from her acclaimed short "Morning After", got her into the highly competitive program.

"It is a tremendous honor, and I’m excited for the mentorship opportunity and to develop and advance my current projects through this excellent lab," says Patricia Chica.

"Montreal Girls," co-written with Kamal John Iskander, tells the story of Basil, a young Egyptian student who travels to Montreal to study medicine and meets two young women who alter his perceptions and inspire him to follow his innate desire to become a poet.

The team of “Montréal Girls” is attending the Toronto International Film Festival® and open to discuss this production with Sales Agents, Talent Agents, and Financiers.

Carmen Aiello is casting out of Los Angeles. Producers Mohamed Hefzy and Daniel Ziskind of Cairo-based production company Film Clinic (TIFF’s 2017 selection “Sheikh Jackson” and Cannes’ 2018 selection “Yomeddine”), will handle the Egypt segment of filming.

In the light of that, Shoreline Management in Beverly Hills, CA has signed Patricia Chica and is now managing her career within the US and Latin American markets.

Patricia Chica is an award-winning filmmaker with over 50 hours of content to her credit and specializes in auteur-driven films that feature strong characters, provocative stories, and striking visuals and had been named a prolific director of shorts and TV projects by Variery.

Chica's more than 300 international official selections have won her numerous awards .
Director Patricia Chica is presently available for interviews in three languages: English, French and Spanish.

She is attending the TIFF Press Conference and Filmmaker Bootcamp in Toronto on August 1st and 2nd.
