Paris, Nov 18 (Canadian-Media): Tear gas and smoke bombs against yellow vest protesters who are demonstrating on the outskirts of the French capital have been deployed by Police in Paris, media reports said. Mass rallies had been planned across the country this weekend to mark the first anniversary of the yellow vest movement.
Since mid-November 2018, France, yellow vest protests have been going on especially in France, Paris.
Initially started as rallies against fuel tax hikes, the protests then grew into a full-scale movement after the government abandoned its plans on rising the fuel tax, demanding less taxes, wage hikes and even the resignation of Macron. The rallies often ended in violent confrontations between police and demonstrators and Police repeatedly resorted to tear gas and water cannon to disperse the most violent demonstrators.
