Meng is wanted by the US authorities for her alleged role in violating sanctions against Iran.
The US Justice Department alleges that Meng's financial transactions had misled multinational financial company, HSBC, into approving more than $100 million in transactions that contravened US sanctions on Iran from 2010 to 2014.
“[Joe Biden] will be more receptive to Canada asking to get this extradition thrown out,” Manly told the “Free Meng Wanzhou” panel on Nov 24.
Manly acknowledged the need for an independent foreign policy in Ottawa, a message echoed by other participants.
