The number of deaths in New York, considered the epicenter of the pandemic in the U.S. has topped 700 for six straight days, although the number of people who are hospitalized decreased.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, United States said Sunday that the economy in parts of the U.S. could show a positive sign as early as next month, provided proper measures by health authorities to quickly identify and isolate people who become infected with the coronavirus.
Still Fauci recommended a gradual process based on the status of the pandemic in various parts of the U.S. and the availability of rapid, widespread testing.
US leaders also disagreed with Donald Trump's eagerness to see the rolling of stumbling economy, due to Americans being ordered to stay at home to help slow the spread of coronavirus.
Larry Hogan, governor of Maryland and Phil Murphy, governor of New Jersey on Sunday expressed their unwillingness to compromise with the stay home orders until widespread testing is available.
