United Kingdom, Sep 1 (Canadian-Media): 2020 spy film written and directed by Christopher Nolan and co-produced with Emma Thomas, the Warner Bros release 'Tenet' premiered in the United Kingdom (UK) on August 26, 2020, after being delayed three times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and is scheduled to be released in the United States (US) on September 3, 2020, in IMAX, 35 mm, and 70 mm, media reports said.

After arriving last week in 678 French cinemas, Tenet achieved 810,000 admissions for the five-day opening period (August 26-30), including previews from August 24-25, the biggest opening total for a film since Covid struck.
Landing in second place with 214,000 admissions is Benoit Deléphine and Gustave Kervern’s Berlin Silver Bear-winning comedy Delete History (aka Effacer L’Historique), from Ad Vitam.
Family comedy Les Blagues De Toto took the third place, with admissions weekend admissions of 145,000
Disney’s The New Mutants won the fourth place with 131,000 admissions from 412 cinemas.
The UK and Ireland marketplaces witnessed a significant rise in family comedies with the arrival of Tenet.
Tenet was able to gross an international total of $54m, with £3.27m in the UK for the weekend period, and £5.4m for the five-day period beginning last Wednesday.
A co-production between the UK and the US, Tenet stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Michael Caine, and Kenneth Branagh.
The plot of the film follows a secret agent who must manipulate time in order to prevent World War III.
It had taken more than five years for Nolan to write the screenplay after spending more than a decade in finalising Tenet's central idea. Casting began in March 2019, and the principal photography, starting in May 2019, took place in Denmark, Estonia, India, Italy, Norway, the United Kingdom, and United States. Cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema shot on 70 mm and IMAX.
