Washington/Canadian-Media: A “unique one-year plan” hybrid release model for its 2021 feature slate has been unveiled by Warner Bros Pictures Group that will see its films open theatrically worldwide and launch day-and-date in US cinemas and for an exclusive one-month window on HBO Max, media reports said.

Warner Bros. Pictures Group’s 2021 expected release slate currently includes The Little Things, Judas And The Black Messiah, Tom & Jerry, Godzilla vs. Kong, Mortal Kombat, Those Who Wish Me Dead, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, In The Heights, Space Jam: A New Legacy, The Suicide Squad, Reminiscence, Malignant, Dune, The Many Saints Of Newark, King Richard, Cry Macho, and Matrix 4.
The 2021 roster includes Dune, Matrix 4 and awards contender Judas And The Black Messiah, each of which will leave the platform and continue to play theatrically in the US and international territories, “with all customary distribution windows applying to the title”.
The hybrid model is in response to the ongoing pandemic, which has had a particularly devastating impact on theatrical releases in the US, keeping cinemas in Los Angeles and New York have remained closed since March.
“We’re living in unprecedented times which call for creative solutions, including this new initiative for the Warner Bros. Pictures Group...We see it as a win-win for film lovers and exhibitors, and we’re extremely grateful to our filmmaking partners for working with us on this innovative response to these circumstances,” said Ann Sarnoff, chair and CEO, WarnerMedia Studios and Networks Group (of which Warner Bros is a part), who announced the model with WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar and added,

Cairo/Canadian-Media: The 42nd edition of the Cairo International Film Festival kicked off on Wednesday 2nd of December, media reports said.

Despite the travel obstacles imposed by the Corona Virus, the festival colorful opening ceremony at Cairo Opera House on Dec 2 was participated by many celebrities from Africa and beyond and more than 200 foreign guests.
The President of the festival, Mohamed Hefzy, thanked the Egyptian state for adhering to the return of life to normalcy, especially the Egyptian Ministry of Health, which supervises the health insurance of the festival with the participation of a team up to 120 people.
International stars such as Sir Christopher Hampton and Rufus Sewell came to present the Opening Film : The Father, directed by Florian Zeller.

In observance of the centenary this year of the Late Italian director Federico Fellini, one of the most prominent directors in the history of cinema, restored copies of four of Fellini's most famous films would be shown on the stage during the event.
The event honored Other figures in the film industry who were honored during the event were the British play -and screenwriter and director Sir Christopher Hampton who won a Lifetime Achievement Award and Whahid Hamid, Egyptian author and screen writer and Mona Zaki, multiple award-winning superstar who took home the Faten Hamama Excellence Award for her work in Cinema.
A video message from the directors of the three most important festivals in the world (Cannes, Berlin and Venice) were played by Mohamed Hefzy during his speech which revealed thier welcoming their participation in the opening ceremony of the festival. The video also praise the challenge that the festival president and his team took to make the ceremony a success.
