Los Angeles, Feb 10 (Canadian-Media): The Oscars Best Actor in a Leading Role award was won by the actor Joaquin Rafael Phoenix for his memorable performance in the movie 'Joker', media reports said.

Directed and produced by Todd Phillips, who co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver, the film Joker is a 2019 American psychological thriller film.
Based on DC Comics characters, the film stars Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker and provides a possible origin story for the character.
Earlier the film Joker had won the Golden Lion when it was premiered at the 76th Venice International Film Festival on August 31, 2019 and was released in the United States on October 4, 2019.
In the Academy Awards, the film Joker was nominated for a leading 11 awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor for Phoenix.
The film Joker had been garnished with Best Original Score for Hildur Guðnadóttir and Best Actor – Drama for Phoenix at the 77th Golden Globe Awards.
It also earned a leading 11 nominations at the 73rd British Academy Film Awards, including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actor for Phoenix. It won the Best Original Score.
