Toronto, Apr 10 (Canadian-Media): In its message to the nation, Canada-India Foundation (CIF) wishes everyone and their loved ones to be safe and blessed as they pass through this challenging time of COVID 19 pandemic, media reports said.

CIF requests everyone, not only Canadians but the entire humanity, during this challenging and difficult phase, to empathise with some of the most affected people including:
International student community, mostly living in a small rented accommodation with limited comfort, trying to meet ends with daily wage income, largely from a retail outlet or a restaurant. Numerous students are already under debt; striving to make their future in Canada. Their plans have been reversed by the COVID 19 pandemic.
Senior community members who struggle to do errands on their own. Scanty business activities have put their routine life under unprecedented pressure. Daily essential grocery, medicine and other necessities have made them helpless and caused nearly a breakdown conditions for those seniors; and
Inspiring healthcare workers such as doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians and a large number of supporting staff, who leave all comforts of family life and have been serving unknown patients at the peril of their own health and life and performing their best, giving their ultimate of professional skills and save each life they treat.
CIF and Hindu Federation are coordinating to help affected people by serving groceries & prepared meals to seniors, international students and other vulnerable citizens; Coordinating with Ontario healthcare systems to deliver freshly cooked meal for front-line workers; and working towards donating personal protective equipment; gloves, masks and face shields to hospitals in GTA.

Tax receipts for these donations, said CIF would be issued for a contribution of C$ 100.00 and more.
