Markham, Oct 29, (Canadian-Media): Markham Arts Council (MAC) is all set to launch their Annual fundraising gala - An Affair With The Arts - on Friday, November 8, 2019 in Markham.
The Gala will be an evening of splendour, commencing with a Cocktail reception, presentation of Local Art, Live Entertainment, Silent Auction, Raffle and Door prizes and a sumptuous
Taking place at the Crystal Fountain at 60 McDowell Gate, Markham, ON. L6G 1B5, the Black Tie Event will be a dazzling event attended by dignitaries, Business entrepreneurs, professionals, artists, Corporations and members of the community.
“I’m proud to serve as the Honorary Chair for this important fundraising event,” said Mayor Frank Scarpitti. “Arts and Culture are key to creating a strong and vibrant community, giving us a better understanding of each other and of the world around us. The Gala promises to present live performances, a Silent Auction, and a Visual Art Show. A souvenir program book will also be released at the gala.
“The theme for this year’s Gala is An Affair With The Arts at the Wonders of The World. The theme will be highlighted throughout the event in the form of visual and performing arts,” said Deepti Aurora, Chair of MAC and co-chair of the Gala Committee along with Councillor Amanda Collucci.

All funds raised from the gala will be used towards supporting Arts and Cultural programs facilitated by the Markham Arts Council.
“Markham Arts Council is celebrating its 15th year anniversary in 2019,” said Aurora who has raised thousands of dollars for organizations such as CNIB, AWIC, Lions Club and The Scarborough Hospital. “The vibrant art scene in the City of Markham would not be possible without the incredible support of our business and corporate partners. Oakville, Oct 28 (Canadian-Media): Lakeshore Convention Centre, 806 Southdown Road Mississauga glittered with festivities and light during the celebration of the 6th annual Oakville Diwali Gala 2019 on Sept 20 in support of Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH).
The glamorous evening presented by Oakville Diwali Gala was attended by more than 400 guests to enjoy Lights, Camera, Auction. The chief aim of this festival was to benefit the expansion of the surgical program and putting essential equipment in the hands of OTMH caregivers, and giving patients access to new surgical procedures to facilitate them with optimal patient experience.
Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada in his letter also extended his "warmest greetings to everyone attending the Diwali Fundraising Gala, hosted by the Oakville Hospital Foundation...for supporting this worthy cause...making a difference in the health and well-being of your fellow citizens."
Mary McPherson, CEO Oakville Hospital Foundation, in her welcome message said, "this year's community support from Oakville Diwali will help us enhance OTMH's surgical department...that helps heal them and we applaud you for your leadership."
Rekha Sharma, Chair, Oakville Diwali, in her message to the gatherings reminded them of the words of John F. Kennedy, "Ask not what your country can do for you, - ask what you can do for your country" and added, "With your support and our efforts...making patient experience more pleasant."

Oakville's Mayor Rob Burton's letter of greetings and best wishes to the organizers of Oakville Diwali and guests read, "Diwali symbolizes victory of good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, light over darkness...Oakville Diwali continues to be an important event in support of Oakville Hospital Foundation and Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital."
The red-carpet gala with high-end entertainment started at around 7 P.M. with cocktails from the open bar with tasty appetizers and followed by sumptuous Indian family-style dinner by The Host.

The celebration of Oakville Diwali in a Bollywood meets Hollywood style evening presented an exciting performances by Canada’s #1 Bollywood Dance Company, Broken Dance, which specializes in creating unique choreography and shows.
Also included in the fundraising efforts were: "Pop the balloon" in the Balloon Burst to win some excellent gifts and the Live Auction for the chance to win an adventurous trip, and many more elite prizes!
Balloons cost $75 each and included the chance to win one of three exclusive gift certificates to Knar Jewellery valued at $1,000, $1,500 .$2,500. This event was sponsored by Knar Jewellery.
The proceeds donated from the event was announced, which totalled to over $140,000.
