#JuliePayette, #KathleenWynne #LegislativeAssemblyinToronto, #Ontario, #ElizabethDowdeswell, #DaveLevac, #JohnTory Ottawa, Feb 20 (Canadian-Media): Canada's Governor General, Julie Payette, was received with a ceremonial welcome at the Legislative Assembly in Toronto during her first official visit to Ontario this morning, media reports said. Kathleen Wynne, Ontario Premier joined Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, and Dave Levac, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly to welcome Payette. Payette was installed on October 2, 2017 as the 29th Governor General of Canada. Upon arrival at Queen's Park this morning, Payette received military honours, including a 100-person guard of honour, the Vice-Regal Salute and a 21-gun salute from 4th Canadian Division/Joint Task Force (Central), including the Governor General's Horse Guards. As a woman who reached the very top of her field in STEM and a passionate educator, Julie Payette shows us that we can all reach for the stars and make a difference in our communities. Payette reportedly would also be honoring about 60 remarkable Canadians in recognition of excellence, courage and exceptional dedication to service.
