Image credit: Facebook page The 81-year-old entertainer, Cosby once known as America's Dad, was labelled a sexually violent predator by Montgomery County Judge Steven O'Neill, who then sentenced him Tuesday to three to 10 years behind bars. Cosby had been accused by more than 60 women of sexual misconduct or assault, but his act of for drugging and sexually assaulting Canadian woman Andrea Constand in 2004 led to criminal charges, becoming the first celebrity of the #MeToo era to go to prison. Official reports confirmed that a lot of celebrities had fallen from scandal but "Cosby was up in the stratosphere and the distance from his stratosphere to the hell he ended up in is a long, long fall." Robert Thompson, the founding director of Syracuse University's Bleier Centre for Television and Popular Culture, said that although it was impossible to watch The Cosby Show without being overwhelmed by all the accusations against the star, but Thompson continued that it did not mean his body of work should disappear and added, "If we erase Cosby in television history we erase a lot of really important stuff that we don't want to erase." Technical and/or production staff would be able to access this information on the City's election webpage at http://ow.ly/qcVO30lTU1K. As new information becomes available, it would be posted under the Live Results Information for Media tile on the webpage. More details are available on the website. The information would highlight how media representatives can access election night results in a machine-readable format for their websites and broadcasts. A testing session for media outlets will be held on October 9, from 8 to 9 pm. Official reports also said that on the election night no technical support would be provided. Sajjan today welcomed the appointment of Gregory Lick as the interim Ombudsperson for the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces, media reports said. I welcome Mr. Lick as the interim Ombudsperson. Mr. Lick’s extensive experience in the Government of Canada and leadership in the Canadian Coast Guard will serve DND employees and CAF members well. The Ombudsperson is responsible for investigates complaints and serves as a neutral third party on matters related to the Department and the Canadian Armed Forces and the welfare of its members and employees. Reporting directly to the Minister of National Defence, the Ombudsperson acts independently of the chain of command and managers. Apart from Lick's service onboard Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) icebreakers and search and rescue vessels for 30 year, he had also worked to develop the shipbuilding procurement and fleet renewal strategies. Effective November 1, 2018 Lick will serve as the interim Ombudsperson for a term of up to eight months or until a new Ombudsperson is appointed.
