Thunberg's actions of making politicians aware of the climate crisis and and her call to take necessary actions to reduce emissions by complying with the Paris Agreement are actually acts of making peace, Holm and Svenneling said Monday.
Both rich and poor countries around the world are being urged by the 2015 landmark Paris climate deal to take preventive measures in global temperatures to rise which causes glaciers to melt, sea levels to rise eventually shifting rainfall patterns. Governments of all the countries are also required to present national plans to reduce emissions to limit global temperature rise.
Thunberg's attempts to encourage students to skip school to join protests demanding faster action on climate change, have facilitated the spread of the movement beyond Sweden to other European nations and around the world.
Fridays for Future movement, founded by Thunberg, 17, has inspired similar actions by other young people.
