Vancouver (B.C.), Jan 28 (Canadian-Media): An online petition was signed by nearly two million people to use Kobe Bryant's image as the new logo for the National Basketball Association (NBA) following the death of the Bryant, one of the NBA's all-time greatest players, due to a helicopter crash Sunday, media reports said.

Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter were among nine people who died on Sunday when the helicopter they were in crashed into a hillside outside the town of Calabasas, Calif.
Change.org said the petition is the first petition of 2020 to top one million signatures anywhere in the globe.
The fastest-growing petition on its website had been signed by celebrities such as Snoop Dogg, Justin Bieber and Usher.
"With the untimely and unexpected passing of the great Kobe Bryant please sign this petition in an attempt to immortalize him forever as the new NBA Logo," reads the petition, which was created by 16-year-old Bryant fan Nick Moghtader of Vancouver.
Introduced in 1969, the current NBA logo features the silhouette of Lakers great and Basketball Hall of Famer Jerry West dribbling a ball with his left hand.
When asked to comment on the petition with 1.9 million signatures as of 12:05 p.m. ET on Tuesday, NBA did not immediately respond.
