Toronto, Apr 13 (Canadian-Media): Toronto Mayor John Tory, on behalf of Toronto City Council, proclaimed April 13, 2019 as “Toronto Raptors Day” in the City of Toronto.
Toronto Raptors were able to successfully capture the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Atlantic Division title for the sixth time and qualified for the 2019 Playoffs.
"The Toronto Raptors, led by all-star players, continue to be a powerhouse in the league’s Eastern Conference...featuring a mix of established stars and exciting young talent, has once again proven that “We the North” is a mantra to be heard across the NBA," Tory said in his proclamation.
"Today, on Toronto Raptors Day, I encourage everyone in our city to show our support and appreciation for this incredible team as they play their first home game of the playoffs. The City of Toronto would like to thank the players, coaches, managers, staff, and fans for the wonderful year so far. We are extremely proud of the Toronto Raptors and we look forward to filling up Jurassic Park deep into the post-season and showing our opponents what the North is all about," said Tory in his proclamation.
