Image credit: Website The decisions taken by the Government of India are as follows: Suspension of existing visas, except diplomatic, official, UN/International Organizations, employment, project visas till 15 April 2020 effective from 1200 GMT on 13 March 2020 at the port of departure. OCI card holders with visa free travel facility is kept in abeyance till 15 April 2020 effective from 1200 GMT on 13 March 2020 at the port of departure. The nearest Indian Embassy / High Commission / Consulate should be contacted for plans for travel to India by foreign nationals for compelling reasons. Quarantine procedures for a minimum period of 14 days would be followed by all incoming travelers, including Indian nationals, arriving from or having visited China, Italy, Iran, Republic of Korea, France, Spain and Germany after 15 February, 2020 effective from 1200 GMT on 13th March 2020 at the port of departure. All non-essential travel by Indian nationals should be avoided and incoming travelers are informed that they can be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days on their arrival in India. Ministry of Home Affairs would pose restriction on international traffic through land borders at designated check with robust screening facilities. Testing primarily for students / compassionate cases in Italy would be made and their samples collected would be organized accordingly. Only those tested negative, will be permitted to travel and on their arrival in India, will be quarantined for 14 days.
