Cancun, Mexico & Houston; Oct 10 (Canadian-Media): It was announced today that GigNet, a Digital Infrastructure Company with a 19,200 fiber-kilometer broadband network from Costa Mujeres to Cancun would partner with World Cinema, a leader of in-room entertainment in North America, to provide “over-the-top (OTT)” streaming and casting solutions to hotel properties in the Mexican Caribbean, media reports said.
Mexican Caribbean is one of the largest and fastest growing tourism destinations in the world, with over 160,000 hotel rooms and over 23 million annual airport visitors.
The guests would be able to view, from the comfort of their guest room, through OTT media service, live television programming on their personal devices and stream their content over the Internet allowing hotels to customize their TV menu screen with the services and information for their guests, such as spa, restaurants, gym hours, maps and directions, and featured amenities.

In addition to powerful streaming apps, the platform includes hotel brand standard apps, with future apps released at no cost to the property.
